The problem
Freight booking is solved in cities and unsolved everywhere else. In semi-urban and rural India, moving a load still means knowing a driver, or knowing someone who knows one. The demand exists and the supply exists; what is missing is the layer that lets them find each other. The obvious answer is to import the ride-hailing model wholesale: dispatch, fare engine, in-app payment, ratings. That answer would have been wrong here.
What we built
A discovery marketplace for trucks, earthmovers and tractors, spanning urban, semi-urban and rural coverage. Vehicles are indexed across payload tiers from 0–0.5 tonnes up to 20 tonnes, so a small consignment and a construction haul resolve to the same search and different fleets.
Drivers register their own vehicles and manage their own listings. Users find nearby drivers and contact them directly.
The decision underneath
We did not build dispatch, and we did not build a fare layer. In these markets the price is negotiated, the relationship matters, and an algorithmic middle layer would have added friction the users did not ask for while adding operational load the business could not yet carry. The product connects and then gets out of the way. Supply is self-serve, which means the network grows without a field team; the app is ad-supported, which means it does not depend on taking a cut of transactions it does not intermediate.
